Published in September 2022, I wrote the book and made the illustrations that were converted and had coloured added by my son, Ýmir Hafliðason Garcia.
Curated International Photo Exhibition at University of Iceland
During the Covid pandemic in 2020, an international Photo Exhibition was held at the University of Iceland. I curated the exhibition, which was held online because of the pandemic - a vibrant gallery was created using www.500px.com
Nations in dialogue: Art and Poetry at the Embassy
In November 2014, an art and poetry exhibition opened at the Embassy of of Iceland in Beijing. The art pieces, mostly installations by renowned Icelandic and Chinese artists, came from the colleaction of Ineke Gudmundsson and the China-Europe Art Center in Xiamen, China. The poetry was from a recently published anthology, printed on office windows. I was in charge of the design for the windows and assistant curator to Ineke. Artist Sigurdur Gudmundsson performed at the opening.
Logo design
UMBRAL, the Association for Intercultural Youth in Iceland did a pre-selection of logos and decided to go ahead with my design, that I refined. The colours represent the diversity of the clients and friends of the not for profit charity that uses non traditional education to emancipate kids from foreign backgrounds.
